Being in Las Vegas for Google Cloud Next 2025 was, without exaggeration, like seeing a piece of the future unfolding before my eyes. It was an intense few days of technical sessions, inspiring keynotes, and lots of interaction with experts from around the world. If you work in technology, especially cloud, AI, or data, this article is simply unmissable.
Here are the main highlights that caught my attention during the event:
There was no escaping it: Gemini was the star of the event. I saw firsthand how the new Gemini 1.5 Pro, now available for public preview on Vertex AI, is capable of processing text, audio, images, and code in a fluid and integrated way. In one of the demos, I was impressed by the AI's ability to understand large volumes of data and generate contextual responses in real time.
Another highlight was Gemini Code Assist, which promises to revolutionize the daily lives of developers. It suggests code snippets, identifies errors, performs refactoring, and even documents – all with surprising accuracy. And Gemini Cloud Assist, in turn, helps optimize infrastructure with suggestions for improving performance and costs.
If AI is at the heart of it, the infrastructure needs to keep up – and Google has made that very clear.
I attended a session about the new A3 Mega instance, with NVIDIA H100 GPUs, created especially for heavy workloads in generative AI. The Confidential A3 version was also presented, aimed at applications that require complete security during training and inference.
But what got me thinking about the future impact was the announcement of Google Axion – a custom CPU based on Arm®, developed in-house by Google. Faster, more efficient, and optimized for the cloud. This is a game changer.
During the panels on collaboration, I saw the debut of Google Vids, an AI-powered video creation tool integrated into Google Workspace. It's ideal for creating explainer videos, pitches, and presentations in just a few clicks. This will empower marketing and communications teams with speed and autonomy.
Furthermore, new AI features in Meet and Chat (such as simultaneous translation, meeting summaries, and automated responses) promise to make remote work even more productive. The integration with Gemini in Chat felt very natural to me – it summarizes topics, answers questions, and even suggests actions.
As someone who closely follows cloud security, I found the integration of Gemini into security operations to be one of the greatest advancements. I've seen practical examples of how it transforms natural language into detection queries, automating responses and reducing investigation time.
The Security Command Center has also gained new features, now with a unified view of threats and real-time compliance. For teams dealing with multi-cloud environments, this is invaluable.
One of the most special moments for me was seeing NowVertical being recognized by Google with a prestigious award during the event.
NowVertical was awarded for the project developed with Google Cloud, which stood out for its innovative use of data and artificial intelligence for digital transformation in clients across Latin America. Being present at this moment of global recognition was exciting and reaffirms how much our ecosystem is on the right track.
Beyond the announcements, what struck me most was the energy of the people. There was a climate of collaboration and excitement in the air. I saw everyone from enthusiastic students to executives from large companies exchanging ideas with Google engineers. The message was clear: we are entering a new era of applied AI, and it will be driven by community, partnership, and lots of code.
I returned from Las Vegas certain that we are facing a major paradigm shift. Google Cloud Next 2025 wasn't just about technology, but about how it can be used purposefully to accelerate businesses, solve real problems, and bring people closer together.
If you can participate next year, please do. And if you'd like to chat about how to apply these new developments in practice, just give us a call!
